PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an attitude of an occupant and to suppress an operation at the time of expanding an air bag by detecting at least a pair of electrodes changing in capacity according to a distance with a human body and a capacity change between these electrodes and detecting the attitude of the occupant. SOLUTION: A steering 1 of an automobile 1 is constituted of a wheel main body 2, an air bag pad 3 storing an inflator of an air bag provided on a center part of the steering 1 and a bag body and a hub 4 connecting both of the wheel main body 2 and the air bag pad 3. On a rear face of the air bag pad 3, a pair of strip-like electrodes 5a, 5b are arranged at prescribed intervals. By a structure to take electric connections to the main body parts of these electrodes 5a, 5b, the electrodes 5a, 5b mounted on the steering 1, an air bag module, a controller of an automobile main body and an attitude detection circuit are electrically connected by clock springs. As a result, the connections of the electrodes 5a, 5b and the attitude detection circuit are not disconnected also while the steering 1 rotates.
