PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molding having a high design effect and excellent durability and wear resistance by integrally forming a base material made of concrete and decorative layers of characters, symbols, designs, patterns, etc., on the surface of the base material. SOLUTION: The base material made of the concrete is preferably a block or board. The foundation part of the interlocking block 1 is formed of the base material 2 made of the concrete and the decorative layer 3 integrated by firing is formed on the surface. A kneaded cement mixture is placed in a form and is temporarily molded by application of vibration and pressing force thereon. The molding is heated to vent internal gaseous and glaze is applied on the surface of the molding. The surface of the dried molding is printed with a slurry-like decorative material mainly consisting of the glaze, pigments and oil and is fired after air drying, by which the molding is produced. The glaze is preferably low temp. firing glaze which can be fired at around 600 to 800 deg.C. The molding is preferably rehydrolyzed by immersing the same for about 48 hours in water in order to intensify the strength of the base material made of the concrete. The molding is used also as a guide board, bulletin board, sign, etc.
