PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preliminarily treating equipment for a manufacturing process of a nonwoven fabric made of inorganic staple fibers which enables them to easily be spread into a fleece-like form of uniform thickness in a carding process by performing an opening process of fibers without snapping them and by making them be in a soft and light state. SOLUTION: This equipment is composed of a carrying in conveyor 1 for carrying inorganic staple fibers 9a into a preliminarily treating chamber 4 by a constant quantity, feed rollers 2 and a preliminarily opening cylinder 3 both installed on the inlet side of the chamber 4, plural plenarily opening cylinders 5 installed in the chamber 4, preliminarily treating agent-spraying nozzles 6 installed in the upper part of the chamber 4 and a carrying out conveyor 8 for carrying out preliminarily treated inorganic staple fibers 9b after aging treatment.
