PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding device enabling a rope to be stably and easily bound under tension and a rope binding method using the same. SOLUTION: In this binding device 1, a first rope hole 3 and a second rope hole 4 are provided at one longitudinal end 2a of a binding element 2 forming the binding device 1, and a fixture 5 which is fastened to a rope is provided at the other end 2b. The rope passed through the first rope hole 3 in the binding element 2 and folded back in the form of a loop has its folded end passed through the second rope hole 4 and bound, after which the other end 2b of the binding element 2 is fastened to a portion of the rope 5 by the fixture 5.
