PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split roller capable of splitting even a work having very thin thickness without difficulties. SOLUTION: A split roller 1 is formed with a split blade 3 and side plates 4 at its both sides, further provided with an ultrasonic vibration generator 6. In the case of splitting a work W, while imparting a feed F for splitting to the split roller 1, the split blades 3 are positively micro-vibrated by an ultrasonic means, splitting resistance is reduced due to the micro-vibration, thus splitting can be performed smoothly.
