PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve start-up of an engine speed when a vehicle shifts its gear range from idling to rapid acceleration as well as to maintain a stable target idling rotation regardless of the range of a operation lever. SOLUTION: This control unit is provided with a switching mechanism 60 for switching a gear range from advancing A, neutral N and reversing B, and an in-cylinder oil injection valve 12 which directly injects oil into a cylinder. In this case, the drive control unit is provided with a control unit (control means for controlling the number of cylinder in operation) 32 which controls the number of cylinder (1 to 6) based on the gear range of the switching mechanism 60, engine speed and the opening of a throttle valve so as to obtain stable engine speed.
