PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reduction in weight of a vehicle body and protection of the vehicle compartment to a much higher degree. SOLUTION: This front body construction has a front side frame 2 which extends longitudinally above a front axle 1, an intermediate frame 5 connecting the rear end of the front side frame 2 to the front end of a floor frame 4 extending longitudinally beneath the floor of a cabin 3, and a dashboard 7 separating an engine room 6 from the cabin 3. In this case, the dashboard 7 extends upwards from the longitudinal mid portion of the intermediate frame 5. Thus, since the point of connection between the front side frame and the intermediate member, that is, a portion curved by collision load, is located forward of the dashboard, the propagation of frame deformation to the cabin can be reduced.
