<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve force transmission efficiency in actuating electric motors and pressing friction elements to a braked member through rotating-linear direction converting mechanism for converting rotational force into linear direction force. SOLUTION: This motor-driven disc brake comprises electric motors 5A, 5B; gear mechanisms 6, 7 for speed-reducing the rotational force of the electric motors 5A, 5B; nut members 13A, 13B rotated by the gear mechanisms 6, 7; screw shafts 10, 11 for converting the rotary motion of the nut members 13A, 13B into linear motion; and friction elements 4A, 4B advanced toward and retreated from a braked member R by the axial movement of the screw shafts 10, 11. The screw shafts 10, 11 are provided with a lock member 14 to be constituted to maintain a rotation inhibited state when actuated.</p> |
