摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the trouble due to the temperature change of a slag discharging system of a high temperature gasification furnace to improve the efficiency and economy of the entire system in carrying out a primary gasification by a low temperature gasification furnace and a secondary gasification by the high temperature gasification furnace. SOLUTION: A slag pot 118 is installed below a slag rock hopper 114 and when slag is withdrawn from a furnace, high pressure circulating water is forced to flow into a slag discharging pipe 136. The circulating water rises at such a low flow rate as not to disturb the gravity-drop of slag particles while being countercurrently brought into contact with the slag, and enters a quenching chamber 110 within a high temperature gasification furnace. Then, the high pressure circulating water is stopped and a gate 120 is slowly opened to allow the slag to fall on to a vibratory screen 122 to recover coarse particle slag.
