PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect an implant and a rod by fixing them more completely. SOLUTION: This rod connecting device comprises rod receivers 13, 13' with rod receiving parts 12, 12' for supporting a rod 10, engaging elements 15, 15' to be engaged with engaged parts 14, 14, 14', 14' of the rod receivers 13, 13', and a set screw 17 to be screwed into the screw part 18 formed in the engaging elements 15, 15' for tightening the rod 10 supported at the rod receiving parts 12, 12'. The engaging elements 15, 15' and the rod receivers 13, 13' are engaged on sloping surfaces respectively.
