PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane reciprocation type parking device capable of decreasing a wasteful installation space by simultaneously housing a car having high car height (a high-roof car and an RV car) besides a regular car and changing the housing height of housing shelves in response to the car height of the cars to be housed. SOLUTION: The plane reciprocation type parking device has an entrance- leaving berth, to and from which cars 1 are entered and left, an entrance lift, on which the cars are loaded from entrance height and which is lowered up to the place of a truck, a leaving lift, on which the cars are loaded from the place of the truck and which is lifted up to leaving height, a travelling truck 10, on which the cars are loaded and which horizontally travels, and a plurality of housing shelves 12 arranged adjacent to the truck 10. The housing shelves 12 have car housing spaces 12a, 12b at least upper-lower two stages, and height is set respectively independently in at least parts of each stage. The travelling truck 10 has a lifting-lowering mechanism lifting and lowering the cars in conformity with the height of the housing shelves 12 and a shifter shifting the cars between car housing spaces 12a, 12b in the height.
