PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mechanically and efficiently demount unit rods of a coupled rod assembly for drilling, without depending on manual work but using a motive power of a rock drill. SOLUTION: According to the demounting method for a coupled rod assembly for drilling rocks, a unit rod 7A which is arranged at a closest location to the coupled rod assembly, a shank-rod coupling 5, and a shank 4 are mutually prevented from rotation by means of a locking pin and a detent jig 13 so that screw couplings are not disconnected and a rotational force is transmitted through the screw couplings. While a second unit rod 7B connected via a rod-rod coupling 6 to the front of the first unit rod 7A is prevented from rotation by a wrench 19, the unit rod 7A is dismounted from the unit rod 7B by using rotation in a direction opposite to a drilling direction of a rock drill. The second unit rod and subsequent ones are demounted according to the same operation.
