PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to safely, cleanly and easily cut open a package of tofu (soybean curd) with ease of handling and use when cutting open the package of the tofu by providing the front end of a handle with a guard member and providing the lower part of the tofu with a knife blade which faces downward. SOLUTION: The cutter for cutting open the pack of the tofu is provided with the square handle 1 which faces diagonally backward. The front end of the handle 1 is provided with centroid together with the guard member 2. The lower part of the guard member 2 is perpendicularly provided with the knife blade 3 having a pointed end so as to face downward. When cutting open the pack of the tofu, a user holds the rear side from the central part of the handle 1 with the thumb, the index finger and the middle finger in a way of holding a pen, brings the knife blade 3 having the pointed part into abutment between the tofu and the package and applies slight force to the handle as the front end is provided with the centroid. The knife blade 3, then, intrudes into the lid of PVC covering the pack and is pulled as it is while the wrist is used in the direction toward the knife blade, i.e., toward the use, by which the pack may be cut open.
