PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric for an electric carpet that has high heat retaining properties with high energy-saving effect without large difference in its thickness from conventional electric carpet and provide electric carpet. SOLUTION: This objective fabric for an electric carpet is a fabric of non- woven fabric or knitted or woven fabric containing 10-90 wt.% of organic fibers coated with metal on their surfaces. The fabric for electric carpet that is constituted so that it may be set on the back face of the electric carpet, or a fabric made of non-woven, woven or knitted fabric containing 10-90 wt.% of organic fibers coated with metal on their surface is fixed to the lower side of the heating wire for the electric carpet, thereby producing the objective electric carpet.
