摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically produce molten iron and to improve the productivity of molten steel. SOLUTION: Into a first arc furnace 10, scrap and carbonaceous material are charged at a required ratio and these charged materials are melted with the arc to produce the molten iron having >= about 2.5% carbon content. The obtd. molten iron 12 is stored in a storing vessel through a ladle 14. Then, into a separated second are furnace, the scrap is charged and melted with the arc. At the suitable stage of <30% in melting of the scrap in the second arc furnace, the molten iron 12 stored in the storing vessel is charged into the second arc furnace through the ladle. Successively, in the second arc furnace, a lance pipe is inserted through an operating port, and its blowing port is deeply inserted into the steel bath melted with the arc heating, and the decarburization is promoted with CO reaction by blowing oxygen through the lance pipe.</p>
