PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavation machine capable of efficiently discharging soil even if it has a flowable quality or a cohesive quality. SOLUTION: This tunnel excavation machine is provided with a cutter head 2 rotatably fitted to the front part of a guide pipe body 1, a chamber 6 of which the wall is broadened toward the excavation direction end and which is irrotational against the guide pipe body 1, and a screw conveyor 4 for discharging excavated soil, having a shaft 7 arranged in the central part of the guide pipe body 1 and projected into the chamber, and a scraper plate 10 formed at least at the upper wall face of the chamber 6 to reach near to the screw blade of the screw conveyor 4 at the extremity.
