PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an operator operating a travel shift lever to recognize the neutral position of the lever through an operational feeling when shifting, and to start an engine only when the operator recognizes the neutral position of the lower, in a work vehicle having the travel shift lever for operating a hydraulic continuously variable travel transmission in the vicinity of a driver's seat. SOLUTION: A detent mechanism 33 for generating an operational response in a travel shift lever 8 when a roller 31 is fitted in a detent groove 32, is arranged in a neutral position of the travel shift lever 8 to enable an operator to recognize the neutral position through an operational feeling of the travel shift lever 8. A safety switch 37 is arranged for enabling an engine to start by interlocking with the detent mechanism 33 when the travel shift lever 8 is shifted in the neutral position.
