PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a net for cultivating seaweeds such as laver and Nemacystus decipiens to the longitudinal edge of which ropes are attached and which enables the length of connecting parts of the ropes to be tied to pillars to optionally be adjusted. SOLUTION: This net for cultivating laver or the like is provided with a laver-cultivating main net 1, string-like knit fabrics 4 attached to the longitudinal edges of the main net 1 and ropes 2 inserted in the knit fabrics 4 along the length of the fabrics 4. The ropes 2 are each preferably a cord made of three to four strands in a twisted and unified state. The string-like knit fabric preferably is formed with two chain-stitch yarns 11a, 11b and with two inserting yarns 12a, 12b tying the yarns 11a, 11b at an optional interval. The rope 2 is sandwiched between two inserting yarns 12a, 12b and the rope 2 is inserted in the knit fabrics 4 along the length of the fabrics 4. The main net 1 is preferably a Raschel net. The length of connecting parts 3 of the ropes 2 can optionally be adjusted by hauling in the fabrics 4 toward the center of the net and is easy to be tied to pillars.
