PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsing device capable of easily and moreover rapidly collapsing an empty container to reduce its volume by only one hand and with a small force. SOLUTION: The ends of a lever 6 are attached to the rear of a base 1 so as to be freely rocked around a horizontal shaft 7, a recess 2 in which at least the lower half of an empty container is housed when the empty container is horizontally placed is provided on the upper surface of the base 1 so as to be arranged closely to the horizontal shaft 7 and parallel it, and also a pressurizing projection 8 capable of being fitted into the recess is provided in the lever 6.
