PURPOSE: A digitizer and its drive method is provided to reduce a leakage of electric current by getting a voltage level of a shield layer identical to that of a sensor panel so that it can enhance a precision of a position detection. CONSTITUTION: A digitizer comprises a display(300), a sensor panel(100), a shield layer(200), and a digitizer controller(400). The display(300) displays a data under the control of an external host computer(600). The sensor panel(100), transparent and installed on a surface of the display(300), transmits a voltage with a specific frequency to 4 corners to sense a user selection. The shield layer(200), installed between the display(300) and the sensor panel(100) to prevent a noise from occurring at the display(300), has the same voltage level with the sensor panel(100). The digitizer controller(400) receives a sensed signal from the sensor panel(100), detects a position selected by a user, and transmits the detected position data to the external host computer(600).
