PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a car audio adapter that can be set simply to a car audio unit, give no disturbing sound from the car audio unit when talking on a mobile phone and reply an incoming call, without the need for any operation. SOLUTION: This car audio adapter is provided with an adaptor main body 10, that contains a carrier detection circuit 11 that detects a carrier sent from a mobile phone D in a vehicle and with a sound volume controller that is connected to a car audio unit. The adapter main body 10 has a control circuit CPU, that provides a signal to reduce sound volume when detecting the transmission carrier, a hook-on operating knob 44 that depresses a hook-on button b1 of the mobile phone D and a hook-off operating knob 45 that depresses a hook-off button b2 of the mobile phone D. When the control circuit detects the transmission carrier, a user operates the hook-on operating knob 44 to depress the hook-on button b1 to set the mobile phone to a speech state and operates the hook-off operating knob 45 to depress the hook-off button b2 to set the mobile phone to a standby state.
