SOLUTION: In a constant velocity universal joint provided with an outside joint member 10 in which three track grooves 12, having a roller guide surface 14 arranged facing to the circumferential direction are formed, a tripod member 20 provided with three leg shafts 22 projected in the radius direction, rollers 34 inserted in the track groove 12 and rings 32, externally fitted to the leg shaft 22, for supporting the rollers 34 turnably and in which the rollers 34 can move in the axial direction of the outside joint member 10 along the roller guide surface 14, the inner periphery surface of the ring 32 is formed into an arc shape projected section, and also the outer periphery surface of the leg shaft 22 is formed into a straight shape at its vertical section and at the horizontal section, is contacted with the inner periphery surface of the ring 32 in the orthogonally crossing direction with the axis of the joint and also forms a clearance in the space toward the inner periphery surface of the ring 32 in the axial direction of the joint.
