PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to efficiently produce a thin and multipole connector having no deformation of an insulating material and no dislocation of a contact. SOLUTION: As for a contact (11) to form a conductive path which is the basic function of a connector, an upper contact provided with a contact part (2) of an excellent conductive copper alloy at one end, a protuberance (7) for preventing slip-off of the contact halfway between, and a tale part (3) to be used for connection to a board at the other end and a lower contact (8) are provided, and a barrier plate (5) to provide the contact (11) at a regulated pitch on a body (9) of an insulating material 2 such as plastic to secure a regulated distance between the upper and lower contacts is provided. The outline of the connector is mainly formed by positioning it on the insulating material 2 (10) provided with a protuberance for preventing fall-off of the insulating material 2 (10) in each row of the barrier plate (5), and the connector is assembled in an insert molding die to manufacture an insulating material 1 (4) for the purpose of alignment of the contacts 11 to be connected to other conductive paths such as a guide to lead a counterpart connector, a board and the like, and the basic internal part and external part of the connector are integrally provided by this insert molding. |
