PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electrode support structure that has less occurrence of failure of electron gun structure even when a thin electrode support glass is used, and is advantageous for increasing its diameter, by providing a raising part which a claw at the tip on a side surface of each electrode, and embedding the claw in substantially parallel with the longitudinal direction of the electrode support glass. SOLUTION: The side surface of an electrode 11 facing to an electrode support glass 52 is provided with raising parts 13 having claws 12 at its tip in substantially parallel with the longitudinal direction of the electrode support glass 52. The claws 12 at the tips of the raising parts 13 are embedded into the electrode support glass 52 softened at a high temperature, they are cured by decreasing the temperature, and the electrode 11 is fixed to the electrode support glass 52. Since the embedded claw 12 is substantially parallel with the longitudinal direction of the electrode support glass 52, occurrence direction of a crack becomes the longitudinal direction of the electrode support glass 52. However, because there is sufficient margin, the electrode support glass 52 little breaks even if a crack occurs. Therefore, even when the thin electrode support glass 52 is used, failure occurrence of an electron gun structure caused by the breaking drastically decreases.
