PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and easily compensate the uniformity of light transmission controlling performance and to realize the printing of high-quality image by performing printing by two exposure modes in an overlapped state and mutually reversing image information fed to an optical modulation means between two exposure modes. SOLUTION: A 1st polarizing plate 13 is arranged so that its axis of polarization may be orthogonal to the axis of polarization of a 2nd polarizing plate 10, and the image is printed on a photographic paper by a normally white mode. Then, the plate 13 is rotated by 90 deg. in a state where the same image is displayed on an LCD 9. Namely, the plate 13 is arranged so that its axis of polarization may be parallel with the axis of polarization of the plate 10 and photographic paper is exposed by a normally black mode. By rotating the plate 13 by 90 deg. and performing exposure by the normally white mode and that by the normally black mode in the overlapped state in such a way, printing irregularity caused by the display performance of the LCD 9 is corrected.
