PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the circuitry while reducing the scale by comparing the terminal voltages of a first inductance element having inductance varying as the position of an object varies and a second inductance element having a constant inductance, respectively, with specified voltages and then switching the voltage level depending on the comparison results. SOLUTION: When a comparator 12 inverts the output V2 to low level at a predetermined time depending on the comparison results of input thereof, the minus side input of a comparator 11 is brought to low level and compared with the plus side input Vc and the output V1 thereof is inverted to high level. Subsequently, the voltage V1 decreases with time at a time constant determined by a coil L1 and a resistor R and when it decreases lower than the voltage Vc, the output V2 of the comparator 12 is inverted to high level and the output V1 of the comparator 11 is inverted to low level. Similarly, when the output V2 of the comparator 12 is inverted to high level and then decreased lower than the Vc, the output V1 is inverted to high level and the output V2 is inverted to low level thus causing self-excited oscillation.
