A thread for a temporary fencing threadin includes: a).a spiral mounting portion, b).a first arm (18) extending laterally to a central axis of the spiral (17) and c).a support portion (21) extending from the spiral and at an angle to the longitudinal axis (A) so as to converge with the arm and provide support to the distal end part of the arm. A temporary fencing threadin (10) formed from a thread as defined above and a standard (11) formed of a glass reinforced epoxy material is disclosed.
