Set of femoral rods comprises first rod (1) impacted with cement, and second rod (not shown) not impacted with cement. Cemented rod has, in its upper section, lateral hollowing-outs (1a, 1b) allowing compression of cement so as to reduce shearing stresses on cement/rod interface. Upper edges of each lateral hollowing-out form 30 degrees angle with horizontal. Outer edge (1d) of rod is rounded.
