Bifunctional hydrocracking catalysts useful for hydroconversion and hydrorefining of petroleum charges comprise partially amorphous zeolite Y and group VB element

The hydrocracking catalyst comprises a matrix, a group VB element and a partially amorphous zeolite Y with a peak intensity (X-ray diffraction pattern) less than 0.4 and crystalline fraction (Na form) less than 60%. Independent claims are also included for the preparation of the catalysts and their uses in hydrocracking and hydrorefining.
