PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a cable network to easily deliver a digital broadcast program broadcast by, e.g. a BS digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast signal Sbs includes a plurality of transport stream signals TS1-TSN. A BS front end section 200 individually extracts the stream signals TS1-TSN from the broadcast signal Sbs. Cable re-modulation sections 300-1-300-N apply modulation and frequency conversion processing to each of the stream signals TS1-TSN to produce digital broadcast signals Sb1-SbN corresponding to the 1st-N-th physical channels of a cable transmission line 13. The digital broadcast signals Sb1-SbN are summed and the sum is transmitted to the transmission line 13. Furthermore, the cable re-modulation sections 300-1-300-N replace an NIT with that suitable for the cable network.
