PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause power consumption to occur only when power is supplied to a motor, and to save energy by switching a time reducing pulse for time reduction of AC power supply to the motor to be started. SOLUTION: A pulse generating means for generating a time reducing pulse is formed by connecting a first branch circuit 2, 3, 13 and a second branch circuit 4, 5, 13 in parallel to each other. The two branch circuits drive respective amplifying means, and close a motor 1 circuit to be started. The two branch circuits are formed so that the positive half waves of an AC power source may pass one of the two circuits and the negative half waves may pass the other. A current flows into the first and second branch circuits according to its both polarities, and charges capacitors 2, 4. Then, a current pulse which flows into the gate terminal of the triac 6 decreases, and the triac cannot be switched on, and remains in an off-state. When the power source is removed, the capacitors discharge. When the capacitors discharge completely, the circuits resume operation.
