PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal drive device and a power supply method for the device increasing the display quality regardless of the content of image information, and reducing power consumption for a liquid crystal display module mounted on a portable information terminal. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel 10 comprising multiple liquid crystal pixels arranged as a matrix, an LCD driver 20A displaying a desired display data on the liquid crystal display panel 10, and a power supply selection circuit 80 supplying a drive voltage for driving the LCD driver 20A. A CPU 50 determines a load state of the LCD driver 20A based on the display data, thereby selecting a specific power supply circuit part from multiple power supply circuits based on the determination result. |
