PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a PC(personal computer) card from a connected device and to operate it even when the CIS(card information) cannot be read out a ROM such as a flash memory. SOLUTION: A PC card 10 includes an MPU(micro processing unit) 11 which processes a function specific to the card 10, a ROM 13 such as a flash memory which is mounted on the card 10 and stores the CIS including the type of the card 10 and product names, a ROM 11a which is contained in the MPU 11 and stores the simple CIS and an SRAM 12 which stores the expanded CIS of the ROM 13 or the simple CIS of the ROM 11a so as to enable a PC driver of a PC to read out these CIS. Thus, the CIS can be read out of the ROM 11a of the MPU 11 and then can be expanded and stored into the SRAM 12 of the card 10.
