PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device main body compact to improve installation performance and to reduce cost by carrying out image formation after rotating a write image in an image storage part in the case an area of the write image is equal to or longer than a specific length in a direction orthogonal to a feeding direction at the time of the image formation. SOLUTION: In the case that an area of a read image data 2 is equal to or longer than a specific length in a direction orthogonal to a feeding direction at the time of image formation in an image forming and fixing part 3, the read image data 2 is rotated in an image storage part and the image formation is carried out, thereby feeding a sheet of paper 1 in a vertical feeding direction and obtaining a high quality copy 4 with the image and the sheet of paper 1 synchronized with each other. This reduces an invalid area to the smallest amount that in necessary. The specific length is one obtained by taking away lateral displacement of a sheet material in a both-sided part, which has a sheet feed unit, a registration roller, the image forming and fixing part 3 and a sheet inverting mechanism, from the valid image-formation-area of the image forming and fixing part 3. |
