PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the reproduction signal detecting method and its circuit, in which the time delay caused by a condition of a data pit shape recorded on an optical recording medium and the interference between the data is compensated. SOLUTION: In an optical recording and/or reproducing device including a photodetecting element 204 for detecting an optical signal reflected and come from the optical recording medium by the multiple division, a time delay compensator 218 for providing an output of a part of the photodetecting element 204 with compensated time delay in such a manner that the output of a part of the photodetecting element 204 generating the time difference in the detection of the time difference between the outputs of the photodetecting element 204 is made to coincide timewise with the remaining output of the pohotodetecting element 204, and an arithmetic unit 228 for providing the result obtained by adding the remaining output of the photodetecting element 204 to the output of a part of the photodetecting element 204 with the compensated time delay, as a reproduction signal, are included.
