PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask frame supporting device capable of preventing miss landing of a beam resulting from impact at a time of falling a color picture tube. SOLUTION: In forming this mask frame supporting device for mounting a mask frame 6 to a face panel 2, a stud pin 10 is provided on an inner peripheral surface of the face panel 2, a tongue-shaped supporting member 9 having a hole part 9a for engaging with the stud pin 10 is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the mask frame 6, and a projected stopper part 12 is provided by spacing a predetermined intervalΔL with the stud pin 10. With this structure, the supporting member 9 is prevented from plastically deforming by impact in falling a color picture tube, and a relative position shift of the mask frame 6 and the face panel 2 is prevented.
