PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a data entry device where input format programs are efficiently switched. SOLUTION: Data entry is executed by switching plural input format programs 7a, 7b having a number consisting of the number of digits corresponding to the number of all input format programs. These input format programs are managed as a catalogue together with the number of programs, and at the time of entering data, the number of programs is read out from a catalogue file. At the time of switching input format programs, the number consisting of the number of digits corresponding to the number of programs is inputted. Since input format programs can be switched only by inputting the number consisting of the number of digits corresponding to the number of all programs, it is unnecessary for an operator to input a number consisting of the number of excess digits in order to switch programs and operator's load can be reduced.
