PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double string structure of a string instrument, capable of adjusting a tone of a pair of two strings simply and surely, and capable of keeping always the same interval during a performance, by applying a structure for maintaining always the pair of two strings with the same tension. SOLUTION: A mandolin 10 comprises a shell part 11, a neck part 12, a head part 13 and strings 20, and the strings 20 sound a single scale with a pair of two strings 21, 22, 23, 24. In a string instrument having a double string structure for sounding a single scale with a pair of two strings like this, end parts on one side of a pair of strings have continuous connection, and a tension of one string 20A and a tension of the other string 20B are kept constant.
