PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix type display device effectively using entire display pixels with a narrow bandwidth capable of interfacing. SOLUTION: A signal line drive circuit 2 and a scanning line drive circuits 4, 5 are arranged such that multiple areas on a display screen are independently driven in a matrix type display device. The matrix type display device is provided with a display memory 7 storing a display signal provided from outside, a mean specifying whether to write the display signal into the display memory or not for every frame unit, and a display timing control circuit 6 providing displays on multiple areas according to the display signal and a signal read out from the display memory.
