PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove troublesomeness in terms of operation and to prevent the missing of an important image by the improvement of operability by changing the revolving speed of a universal head according to the magnification control information of a motor-driven zoom lens. SOLUTION: The revolving speed of the universal head is varied interlocked with the magnification control of the motor-driven zoom lens, and it is made low when the zoom lens is moved to a telephoto side and made high when the zoom lens is moved to a wide-angle side on the contrary. When a revolving instruction (1) is received from an operation unit, whether an automatic speed mode is set or a manual speed mode is set is discriminated (5). In the case of discriminating that the automatic speed mode is set, the A/D value of a zoom potentiometer is read in (4) and confirmed. The A/D value of the zoom potentiometer correlates with the magnification of the zoom lens. Next, the control pulse (33) of set speed fit to the magnification of the zoom lens is outputted to a motor driver, whereby the motor is rotated to revolve the universal head in a specified manner.
