PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balance correction method for a hollow shaft which can surely correct the balance of even a fine and lengthy hollow shaft. SOLUTION: Residual unbalanceness is measured and grasped at each sectional surface in an axial direction of a hollow shaft 10. Polishing is carried out after calculating polishing rate required for correction of the residual unbalanceness. With a conventional two-plane balancing correction method, engine may be vibrated without any cause. Balance can be kept over all length of the hollow shaft 10 by eliminating residual unbalanceness on a number of axial sectional surfaces. It causes no vibration when being attached to the engine, for enabling stable driving.
