<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder resin having excellent storage stability, fixability and offset resistance by using a specific polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) as a stabilizer for suspension polymerization. SOLUTION: This toner binder resin consists of a styrene-acryl polymer for the toner binder resin having a sharp grain size distribution of <=0.7 in uniformity, a glass transition temperature of >=55 deg.C and a weight average molecular weight of >=100000. The styrene-acryl polymer for the toner binder resin has a maleate portion, vinyl acetate portion and vinyl alcohol portion. The polymer described above is formed by suspension polymerization of a styrene monomer and acrylic monomer in the presence of the maleic acid denatured PVA of 0.1 to 10 mol% maleate portion with respect to the total of the vinyl acetate portion and the vinyl alcohol portion and 65 to 95 mol% vinyl alcohol portion and has the sharp grain size distribution of <=0.7 in uniformity, the glass transition temperature of >=55 deg.C and the weight average molecular weight of >=100000.</p> |
