<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection mirror, light source device, illumination device and liquid crystal projector capable of utilizing the entire luminous flux emitted from the light source to an object to be projected as efficiently as possible. SOLUTION: The reflection mirror 4 itself has not an ordinary paraboloid mirror having a completely round opening shape but a paraboloid 4b of revolution which is made common in a focus F and is made flat at a ratio corresponding to the aspect ratio of a liquid crystal panel having a rectangular shape in the shape of the opening 4a. The reflection mirror 4 has the light source 3 disposed in the position of the focus F, by which the light reflected and emitted by the reflection mirror 4 has a shape approximate to the shape of the liquid crystal panel 1, i.e., an angle of view and, therefore, the entire luminous flux of the light source may be utilized as efficiently as possible.</p> |
