PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner carrier which affords high-quality images free of density unevenness, is less changed in characteristic change during long term use and is excellent in durability by constituting a coating layer to be disposed on the surface of a conductive elastic layer by using polyol cured by a melamine resin. SOLUTION: The conductive elastic layer 3 is formed on the outer periphery of a good conductive shaft 2 to the toner carrier 1 and the surface of the conductive elastic layer 3 is provided with the coating layer 4 consisting of the resin, etc. This coating layer 4 is formed of the material containing the resin prepared by curing the mixture composed of the polyol and the melamine resin. Any materials having the good conductivity are usable as the shaft 2 and usually an arbor consisting of a solid material made of metal and a metallic shaft, such as metallic cylindrical body internally bored hollow, are used therefor. Also, an elastic material formed by adding a conducting agent to a suitable rubber material to impart electrical conductivity thereto is used for the conductive elastic layer 3. |
