PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a software keyboard displaying method by which operation based on a processing selection determination key for KANJI (Chinese character) transformation or the like is easily executed by displaying a processing selection determination key in an enlarged or reduced state corresponding to a character displayed on a screen in accordance with the input state of the character, changing the arrangement of processing selection determination keys on the screen or newly displaying the processing selection determination key on the screen. SOLUTION: The method is prepared for inputting characters by operating a software keyboard provided with a KANJI transformation function by using an input pen 26, and when one or more characters allowed to be converted are inputted to an input buffer 24, processing selection determination keys corresponding to 'cnversion', 'adoption', etc., are displayed in an enlarged state, and when the 'conversion' key e.g. is depressed, processing selection determination keys such as 'succeeding candidate' and 'preceding candidate' are displayed in the enlarged state.
