PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To access a data area in a short waiting time by recording the address information in a nonvolatile memory to access an area where the input data of a disk-like recording medium are recorded. SOLUTION: A system entry memory 11 functions as a nonvolatile memory and stores the same data as those recorded in each part of a system entry area of a hard disk 3 in its internal recording area. The file management data are retrieved from a directory area of the memory 11 against a reproduction command, and a head block number (head cluster number) is detected for a file whose reproduction is instructed. Then the record of a FAT address corresponding to the head block number is retrieved and a block number following the head block number is detected. Thereafter, the block numbers of continuous clusters are successively detected in the same way until the EOF corresponding to the end block of the file is detected through the retrieval of a FAT area.
