PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance user-friendliness of a mobile phone and to improve reliability of use by backing up data stored in the mobile phone, in matching with a charging operation of the mobile phone. SOLUTION: A charger with a data backup function for a mobile phone is provided with a charging function, to charge up the mobile phone and with a backup function that backs up various data stored in the mobile phone and writes the backed-up data to the mobile phone. The charger in this case has a telephone memory control section 30, that has a memory storing various data stored in the mobile phone, a charging control section 50 that controls charging of the mobile phone, and a power supply conversion section 40 that converts the input voltage of a home use power supply or the like into a drive voltage for the telephone memory control section and the charging control section.
