PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make transporting speed of transfer paper so as to be specific by adjusting a transporting path during the paper transport, and reducing the transport force as a result of a deflection of paper. SOLUTION: The device is constituted by equipping an image carrier 1 carrying the toner image, a transferring part 4 held in contact with the image carrier 1 for transferring the toner image on transfer paper 8, transporting guides 7 and 7' transporting the transfer paper to a desired position while changing the transporting direction by coming into contact with the transfer paper 8 up to the transferring part 4, and a regist roller 5 guiding the transfer paper 8 to the transporting guides 7 and 7'. In this case, the device is provided with a contact position varying means 10 making the contact position variable on which the transfer paper 8 is coming into contact with the transporting guides 7 and 7'.
