摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of piercing a contact hole in the interlayer insulating film provided between a shielding film and a common line in order to connect the shielding film and the common line by allowing the shielding film to be in a floating state in a holding capacitance having structure in which a dielectric substance is held between the shielding film and a pixel electrode. SOLUTION: Source signal lines 17 connected to a source signal line driving circuit 11 intersect the gate lines 18 connected to a gate signal line driving circuit 12. A pixel thin film TFT 14, a liquid crystal cell 15 holding liquid crystal between a counter electrode and a pixel electrode and a holding capacitance 16 are provided in the area enclosed by the source signal line 17 and the gate signal line 18, that is, a pixel part 19. The holding capacitance 16 has a structure in which an oxidized film as a dielectric substance is held between the pixel electrode and the shielding film and all shielding films are in floating states in which the films are not connected to the common line. Then, a pixel signal inputted to the source signal line 17 is selected by the pixel FETs 14 to be written in prescribed pixel electrodes.
