PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone device which reduces the telephone charge on a user by automatically enabling communication by a tranceiver preferentially to a public telephone line when the communication opposite terminal is in the service area of this telephone device. SOLUTION: To make a call, a communication party is selected and a call mode is selected. When a fixed call mode is selected, the portable telephone device 1X is connected to the portable telephone device 1Y as an opposite communication terminal by using a PHS line as a public telephone line through a base station 3A to become communicable. When an automatic call mode is selected, a transceiver function makes a call and when there is no answer, a connection is made through a PHS line next. The communication by the transceiver function is given priority, so when the opposite terminal is in the service area, a charge-free communication can be made. |
